President's Address

During my first semester at the University of Michigan, I did everything I could to get involved on campus. I knew that the college experience was more than just earning a degree during one's years at The University of Michigan. Still however, I felt as though I was not getting enough out of my college experience.

During my second semester, I met a group of Triangle men and asked about their organization. What I found was an organization that provided me with the opportunity to grow as a student, a friend, and a true leader in the community. Triangle offers a family, a brotherhood that transcends typical friendships formed in college. Triangle is an organization where men develop upon both their interpersonal and technical skills. Triangle offers its members the opportunity to give back to their community by working with organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, The Detroit Project, Habitat for Humanity, and Relay for Life. Additionally, Triangle provides its members with access to a nationwide network of alumni in the fields of engineering, science and architecture that will serve them well after they leave Michigan.

There is not another organization on campus that offers more opportunities in the areas of brotherhood, service, social, and academics than Triangle.

This semester, we're looking to expand on our recent service and philanthropy growth by laying the framework for Triangle's annual service event at Michigan (details forthcoming!). E-mail our Vice President of Public Relations Stephen Graham at stgraham@umich.edu to find out more about Triangle's service and philanthropy events.

We'll also be sure stick to our roots in the fields of engineering, math, science, and architecture by hosting professional development activities such as mock interviews with industry recruiters, resume critiquing sessions, and career fair prep workshops.

On top of all of this, we've got a great social calendar lined up for this semester, including bon-fires, sorority mixers, IM sports, bowling nights, and a wide variety of Greek Week events. E-mail our Vice President of Programming Jordan Rahme at jrahme@umich.edu to learn more about our social and professional development events.

It's going to be a great semester for the Michigan Chapter of Triangle and I invite you to come over and get involved.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or any of our brothers. I can be reached anytime at (734) 272-8721 and I'd be more than happy to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rick Wetherhold
